Family Trees Unlocked by Michelle Smith professional genealogist and family historian henceforth referred to as ‘the service provider’ conducts family history research on behalf of clients. The ‘Home Person’ is the person whose family is being traced (the recipient). In order to begin work, Family Trees Unlocked by Michelle Smith will ask the client to complete a Family Tree Information Form in order to begin work. Data requested of the Home Person and their relations will include: full names, addresses, dates of birth, dates of marriage, dates of death and any other relevant information about individuals.

The client will be requested to provide their name, email address, postal address and telephone number. This is to enable the service provider to contact the client while the research is underway and issue the family tree package.

Information provided on the Family Tree Information Form will be used to research and compile a Family History Report using the 'Create a new tree' feature at Ancestry.co.uk. Ancestry.co.uk holds this data on secure servers and the service provider always uses the maximum privacy settings offered. No personal data can be shared by Ancestry with any other parties nor can it be viewed by any other user on the Ancestry.co.uk website. Personal contact information will not be entered on the Ancestry.co.uk website. The information entered by the service provider on the Ancestry.co.uk website is names, dates and places.

Your personal data will be retained until you receive your Family Tree Report. At which point your data will be retained for a further two years should you require further services in the future. After two years or as soon as is practicable, your data will be deleted unless you have previously specified that it should be kept for a longer or shorter period.
