Ancestor Biography
Would you like to know more about one of your ancestors? For example, were they well known, had a military career, were imprisoned or emigrated. An Ancestor Biography is a comprehensive report which traces the significant events of one of your ancestors. This research is a way to discover more about ancestors whose lives were recorded in contemporary records of the time.

On completion of the research, I will produce a biographical report. Your Ancestor Biography will be sent to you electronically, in PDF format.

The Beech and Oak packages include a unique and comprehensive narrative report presented in a hardback springback binder. Your ancestor's siblings / children's names and dates of birth will be recorded and anything notable about their lives will be included in the report. The report could also include, dependent on the information found, any of the following:

I offer a free initial assessment (up to an hour) to ascertain whether further research is possible.

Information Required
​
After initial contact I will request the following information:

Full name and date of birth of the ‘Home Person’ (the recipient)

Names and important dates of other relatives (including birth, marriage and death dates)

Photocopies or scanned copies of any birth, marriage or death certificates you have

Client's address
I am a UK based professional genealogist and family historian searching for ancestors in England, Wales and Scotland. Irish genealogy research can be more difficult due to the destruction of many Irish records and therefore, I would recommend an expert in Irish genealogy if you have known Irish ancestry.
Deposit & Payment

After the initial free assessment, if further research is possible and you wish me to proceed, I will request a deposit of 50% before work can begin (non-refundable).
The remaining balance is payable once the report is print-ready.
All payments to be made via secure bank transfer (BACS).
Completion and Delivery
​
The completion of a package can take up to 12 weeks. The time is dependent on the package chosen and current waiting times for documents and certificates which have to be ordered from the relevant record offices. You will be kept regularly informed of progress by email.

Extra Copies of the Research Report

Extra copies of the report can be purchased. Presented in a springback binder the price includes postage and packing to a UK mainland address. Payment is required before reports are printed. Please contact me for further details.
